Dat is ook het geval met Knopen in je touw, het debuut van Kirstin Rozema-Engeman. Het is ook voor kinderen met PDD-NOS  (een aan autisme verwante stoornis) goed mogelijk om te leren gevoelens, gedachten en intenties van anderen te begrijpen. Wel doen ze er langer dan gemiddeld over over om deze zogenaamde  &#8216;Theory of Mind&#8217;  (TOM) te ontwikkelen. Dat blijkt uit het promotieonderzoek van Els Blijd-Hoogewys, die op 6 november promoveert aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Kinderen kunnen afvallen als het juiste boek lezen. Dit komt naar voren uit onderzoek door het Duke Children�s Hospital, waaraan een groep te dikke meisjes tussen de negen en de dertien jaar meedeed.
